Medicaid Re-Design Needs Our Input - Survey
Posted almost 14 years ago by Christen Standiford
As part of meeting the law that requires further study into redesigning the state Medicaid and Peachcare program, the state of Georgia has set up meetings for individuals to participate in to discuss how to this will change in Georgia. They are seeking input from providers, vendors, consumers and advocates concerning how the program will work and how it can affect health care in our state. The reports of these meetings go to the Governor and the future of medicaid in Georgia will be affected by the outcome of these meetings. The health insurance industry is heavily involved in this process and it is helpful for our policymakers to hear from consumer, patient, and primary care provider perspectives as well. We’re anticipating legislation in 2012 based on the committee’s recommendations.
If you haven't received an invitation to participate and still would like to, reach out to DCH (navigant@dch.ga.gov, or contact Terri Branning) and see if you can be added to one of the locations. They are only going to be running until the first week in November so time is definitely short.
Second, the DCH has posted their online survey for those who are not able to attend the meetings in person--please spread the word about the survey to anyone who would have an interest. There are four different surveys available: providers; vendors; consumers; advocates. If you haven't done so already, fill out the survey (it is quite long) and if there is a question that doesn't seem to fit or you don't have an answer to, just fill in N/A. If you can, also send out this message to your respective lists and partners who would like to have some input into this process. Here is that link: http://dch.georgia.gov/00/channel_title/0,2094,31446711_175712415,00.html
The survey will close by November 7th so time is ticking away.
