January 2024 update

Hello APRNCCG Members!

We are so excited to start off 2024 well with an excellent first meeting of the year! Our January 11, 2024, was held at Cohen's Retreat in Savannah. The event was sponsored by Horizon Therapeutics (thank you Cheryl Kennedy, who was so kind and just great to work with to set this up!) with speaker Dr. Michael Hemphill, who is well known to many of the members as a long time local Savannah neurologist, on the topic of Understanding the Disease Burden and Clinical Implications of Neuromyelitis Optical Spectrum Disorder.

After the dinner portion of the meeting, we held the business portion of the meeting. The group was very engaged and we made several important decisions, including sponsoring the UAPRN with a financial donation and plans for upcoming meetings and outreach as well as a policy update as we are in legislative season right now. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 6:30pm at HUSK in Savannah on the topic of "Chronic Kidney Disease and Diabetes Current Guidelines."  Please RSVP through the website. The speaker / sponsor would like a minimum of 20 guests, and we would love to be able to show up to support him!

We are also looking into opening an online store for APRN logo products as well as other fundraising ideas to support our community support initiatives - more on that to come now that we have our 501(c)6 status reinstated - thank you Kim!

2024 is off to a strong start and we are very excited to see what the rest of the year has to come!
