Hello APRNCCG Members!
We had our most recent dinner meeting last week at GSU - Armstrong Campus. This has been the highly anticipated Members Presentation - and it went great! We had an excellent turnout of participants in person and virtually via Zoom. A special thank you to Dr. Kat Trembly, GSU Faculty, for facilitating this meeting.
Also, a special thank you to our speakers:
Lisa Miller, MSN, FNP-C – Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare
Melanie Howard, DNP, APRN, ACNS, FNP-BC – Menopause
Kelly Wagner, DNP, FNP-C – Addiction is a Complex Disease
Christen Standiford, MSN, ANP-BC – Kidney Transplant Basics
Please see the attached minutes for further details regarding that meeting and visit the website to view the slides (the file is too big to share via email)! All participants have been entered into our raffle for November, during NP week.
Our next dinner meeting will be on October 12, 2023, at the Chart House. We are waiting for a final confirmation from the rep, so be on the lookout for the RSVP for that.
We are also passing along non-APRNCCG rep-sponsored meetings. There is a meeting at 45 Bistro in Savannah on Tuesday, September 26, hosted by AJ Johnson from Provention Bio. Please see the website for RSVP instructions that was previously shared.
The UAPRN is asking for member feedback regarding proposed amendments to the required APRN protocol through the Georgia Composite Medical Board. I've included that proposal here. Please feel free to email APRNCouncil @ gmail.com and I'll be happy to pass along your feedback. You may also contact Robin Pingeton, UAPRN, at Robin @ pingetonseniorcare.com or Daniel Dorsey, Executive Director at the GCMB - ddorsey1 @ dch.ga.gov.
Thanks and see you soon!
~Christen

The speakers were amazing with clinically relevant, well-organized, evidence based presentations which will help all of us in clinical practice and when teaching future NPs.
