August EC Meeting + Updates

Hello APRNCCG members!

Your Executive Council managed to get in an August EC meeting before the end of the month, around our crazy schedules and a hurricane! I hope everyone is ok after yesterday’s storm!

Please see the posted minutes for full details regarding what we talked about, what we have upcoming, and member input.

Briefly, 

We have been very fortunate to have a number of reps reach out to sponsor meetings and have a plan in place for the next several months. We have a consensus from previous meetings that we like having different types of meetings - the more formal, rep-sponsored meetings as well as the more casual, group-sponsored meetings. We plan to continue hosting the group-sponsored quarterly (aka every 3-4 months) in between the rep sponsored meetings. We also will help disseminate other non-APRNCCG sponsored meetings as we receive invitations / fliers - one for next month is attached here. 

With that in mind, our next meeting is in just over 2 weeks! This one snuck up on us:

September 14, 2023 (awaiting confirmation, Analicia to check on this and confirm hopefully today 8/31)

The dinner portion of the meeting will be sponsored by the APRNCCG – likely Moe’s!

Also,

We are asking for your help to recruit new APRNs to our group! We have mentioned bringing a friend to the meetings - if you do decided to do this, please let that friend know that there is no obligation to join, we just want to give them an opportunity to learn more about our group and our amazing members!

One decision we made during our EC meeting was different ways to sponsor and promote nursing celebrations. We would like to start this for NP week in November and Nurses week in May.

We will plan for each November (with NP week) and May (with Nurses week) to hold a raffle for members to enter to win assorted gift cards, as sponsored by the APRNCCG! 

    Inclusion criteria: Any member or guest who attends the APRNCCG meeting for September / October / November will be eligible for the November drawing. 

Finally, 

We are ready to make a final decision regarding our logo - the (almost) final draft is attached, if you have any thoughts or considerations please let us know otherwise we will be moving forward with this design! We did ask the designer to fill in the “gaps” in the APRN letters just for clarity, but other than that we don’t plan on any further changes (pending your feedback!).
